Jian posted a Facebook statement before any media release to explain his side of the story. Chow-White says this move was well-thought out and “was a way of not just getting in front of the story, but also framing it from here on out. Jian Ghomeshi is a media practitioner. He knows how the media works. This isn’t just an average everyday person playing the media game.”

A prescription for reform needed in 

health​ care system

BC's Information and Privacy Commissioner Elizabeth Dunham's opinion editorial on an OIPC Special Report containing 21 recommendations for the protection of personal health information in the health care system. Dunham states "B.C. is one of the few provinces without comprehensive health privacy legislation governing the many generators of personal health information" and urges that "British Columbia has the opportunity to embrace innovation and protect privacy at the same time." GeNA Lab is involved in extensive research around key issues addressed in the report regarding Big Data, personalized medicine, informed consent, and health information privacy.
